You know the school hols are coming when there is an explosion of fun activities catered for our young ones. This year, as part of the annual Children's Season organised by the National Heritage Board, Masak Masak 2015 at the National Museum of Singapore returns with many fun and inspiring activities!

Expect the familiar playgrounds, interactive installations by Singapore and international artists including Jeremy Hiah, Mademoiselle Maurice and Crystal Wagner. There are also engaging performances, film screenings, and family-oriented activities that are specially curated for the festival! Who says the museum is boring huh?

So, take up your planner now and reserve a day to let your kids play around and have fun at the National Museum of Singapore! The activities are suitable for ages three to seven.

Transform a simple piece of paper into a work of art at this fun and interactive origami workshop! Get creative and be inspired by French artist Mademoiselle Maurice as she guides you and your young one in the intricate art of paper folding.

For ages 4 to 7 (one parent-and-child pair)
10:30 am (90 mins) | $20 per ticket (excludes SISTIC booking fee)
* All materials needed for the workshop are included. 
* Each workshop is limited to 10 parent-and-child pairs.
* Tickets available at SISTIC.

For ages 8 to 12 (one child)
1:30 pm (2 hours) | $12 per ticket (excludes SISTIC booking fee)
* All materials needed for the workshop are included. 
* Each workshop is limited to 20 participants.
* Tickets available at SISTIC.



Join Singaporean Jeremy Hiah in this fun and interactive workshop and give your child a chance to create his own story using shadow puppetry! Inspired by Javanese wayang kulit, the workshop brings your child's story to life with characters from an Asian folk tale and sheds light on the traditional art form.

A Lighter Side of History presents Joint Picture Joins Heart, an art therapy workshop that explores art as a form of communication. Be inspired by history and join us for an afternoon of creative expression through painting and drawing with your child or grandchild. Facilitated by experienced art therapists, this workshop encourages the sharing of experiences between generations, while inculcating the importance of valuing and respecting others.


* This program is open for pairs of 1 parent/grandparent to 1 child.
